Nancy Dettmer, Scholarship and Internship Coordinator at Junction City High School, nominated Ohemaa for the Optimist Club’s Student of the Month Recognition. She wrote that “Ohemaa is one of the shining stars at JCHS. She has been a pleasure to have in class for the past two years. When her family got transferred to California, Ohemaa found a way to continue to be a Blue Jay by staying in Junction City to finish her senior year and live with the Matt Micheel family. She is a top-notch student, a hard-working athlete, and a joy to be around. She helps those around her in any way she can and has a beaming smile that brightens everyone’s day. I’ so very blessed to have been able to have her as a student.”

Ohemaa received a $25.00 gift certificate from JC’s BBQ & Grill. her mother flew in from California to witness Ohemaa receiving recognition at the Hampton Inn in Junction City.
