Billie Eugene Bruckner of Delavan passed away December 8, 2020 at the Divericare of Council Grove, Kansas.

He was born August 18, 1928 at home to August and Florence (Bullock) Bruckner in Wilsey, Kansas.

He married Barbara Anderson on April 17, 1950 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. They were happily married for 68 years.

Bill worked at Beech Aircraft in Delavan and later in Wichita.  Then did some farming with his brother until the Council Grove Reservoir was built over that farm.  He began his career with Greeley Gas Company as a welder in Herington, Kansas until his retirement.  After retirement he helped his brother Rip (Elmer) farming, in which he truly loved.  They also liked to go coon hunting and had pretty good dogs too.  He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with family.  He also did a lot of camping and boating with his kids while they were growing up.  He and Barb went to a lot of dances and traveled with family and friends.  Getting the grandkids or whoever else to start a game of 31 was always on the table for some fun.

Bill is survived by his children Roxie (Bud) Smithson, Delavan, KS, Eddie (Kathy) Bruckner, Skiatook, OK, Michelle (Don) Cartwright, Peculiar, MO, Corrine (Bob) Blosser, Council Grove, KS, and Teresa Wilson, Springdale, AR; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, brothers Dale, Chet and Elmer Bruckner, sister Maxine Parker, son-in-law Radford Wilson, grandsons Zachery Wilson and Joey Cartwright.

Private Family Graveside Service was held at Wilsey Cemetery.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wilsey Christian Church or Diversicare of Council Grove and sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, Kansas 66846.
