JC Naz Announcement of House of Hope Closure

JC Naz will always be a church with the Mission "To Make Christ-like Disciples that Transform their World" and we will always seek the Lord's guidance in everything we do because it is ultimately Jesus' church, it is not our own. We have felt led to make some shifts over the past year and we have received inspiration for some new things on the horizon for Fall of 2025.

Over the past year, we've begun to partner financially with local and regional partners Junction City Pregnancy Center, Fresh Start, Geary Food Pantry, McKinney Vento Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Relentless Pursuit based in Kansas City to assist meet community needs. We believe it is the vital role of the church to support the community at large and we strive to do that in the way the Lord leads.

In September, we will be starting “The Table” a Dinner Church in Grandview Plaza to provide a weekly meal, share a Jesus story, and create fellowship around a dinner table in the same way that the early church did in Acts 2; around the dinner table. Our prayer is to help feed the community both physically and spiritually and invite them into fellowship to establish that church. That church will never become what today's church building looks like with a stage + chairs/pews, it will always be centered around a meal with people gathered around a table.

In October, we are going to be launching a program during the week called Celebrate Recovery (CR) that will meet at JC Naz. CR is a program that we believe will benefit Junction City and the surrounding communities. This program is for anyone who is struggling with everyday mental and emotional challenges to substance abuse to overcoming physical/sexual abuse in childhood or past relationships. This program is about Finding Freedom from those things that are obstacles from living a life that God intended for you to live. We believe this program will have a meaningful impact on individuals and the community at large. You can find more info at celebraterecovery.com

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 in the Bible shows us that there is a season for all things. As we have felt called to sow new things, this season has also called us to assess all of our ministries.

House of Hope has been a blessing to Junction City and the surrounding communities for many years. We are thankful to those who have donated items to help others in need and for the countless hours that volunteers have put in to serve those within the community. It's with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of House of Hope effective August 28th. With much prayer, careful considerations and discussions with the leadership team of HOH and JCNaz, this decision was not made lightly, and many factors contributed to this difficult decision.

We understand that there is a need for a ministry like House of Hope within our community and we appreciate your patience as we seek the Lord in what he is calling JC Naz into. We have reached out to similar ministries in surrounding communities and we will be seeking ways to partner and explore other possibilities as the Lord makes them available. We ask that you please join us in prayer that the Lord may guide us to new ways to fulfill this ministry or that He would light a fire in the heart of others within our community to fulfill this need.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to continuing to serve Junction City and the surrounding communities. God Bless you.
