Registrations are now being taken for the 26th Annual Christmas Parade from 107.9 FM/1420 KJCK and the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce. This Christmas tradition is the day after Thanksgiving Friday, November 26th. The parade follows a route from 6th and Eisenhower Streets and makes its way east on 6th Street to the downtown area. It also features a visit by Santa Claus. The Parade theme this year is "Christmas at the Movies." Awards presented prior to the parade include:
$200 Mayor's Award - Best use of Theme, sponsored by Central National Bank
$150 Chamber Award - Best Commercial Float, sponsored by the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce
$150 County Commission Award - Best Non-Profit/Religious/Government Float, sponsored by the Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
$150 Founder's Award - Creativity and Originality, sponsored by D.E.L. Motors
$150 Youth Award, Youth Involvement.
