USD 475 has announced that a Purple Star commemorative certificate has been awarded to Westwood Elementary and Fort Riley Elementary for demonstrating a major commitment to supporting students and their families connected to the United States military.
The USD 475 Board of Education approved piloting a K-3 Reading Intervention Specialist position, which is designed to help the district prepare for the upcoming State of Kansas literacy requirements and several other areas. The pilot position will be supported through the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) grant funding and will run through the duration of the grant that will end at the conclusion of the 2027-28 school year.
