Tava Gustafson had the grand champion market steer at the Geary County 4-H Beef Show Tuesday evening. She said her steer called Ratchet, weighs 1,274 pounds. "And he's a big baby, I love him, he loves baths and he always lays down when he gets a chance. "
This is the second consecutive year that Gustafson has had the grand champion at the fair.
Cody Brown had the reserve grand champion market steer. "He weights 1,475. He's pretty good...calm I guess." To prepare for the fair Brown noted that you have to feed the animals every day, wash them and work with them.
The Fair continues with the 4-H Swine Show Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The Fair is only open to 4-H member and their families this year, and not to the general public due to COVID-19.
