The Fort Riley annual holiday tree lighting will be at 5:30 PM Thursday at the Ware Parade Field.
The Army announced that the lighting of the 20-foot-tall tree marks the start of the holiday season for the Fort Riley community. Col. Jerry Nunziato, Fort Riley Garrison Commander, will join Santa Claus to light the tree.
The event includes a children’s choir from Fort Riley Child and Youth Services. Fort Riley’s Holiday Tree lighting is open to the public. Visitor passes are available at the Visitor Control Center near Marshall Army Airfield, Exit 301 off I-70. Visitors can also apply for a pass online at https://pass.aie.army.mil/Riley/.
