Junction City firefighters worked a warehouse fire involving two sheds at 948  Grant Ave. Friday. There were no injuries. According to Fire Chief Jason Lankas a state fire marshal office representative was called in to help with the case but the cause is undetermined right now. Lankas indicated that the investigation would probably continue Monday.

Fort Riley Fire & Emergency Services , Geary County Rural Fire and Grandview Plaza Fire Department provided mutual aid support and Junction City Public Works also helped clear debris with a backhoe.

Lankas noted that their were actually two warehouse sheds that contained equipment ranging from tractor and tools to boats and cars. The sheds were owned by William Stanley. A specific damage estimate was not available. Multiple explosions due to LP gas containers and power to some of Junction City was lost for a time due to a transmission line running through the scene.
