Margaret Ann Frost, 61, of Wamego, Kansas, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, at the Wamego Health Center. She was a life-long member of the area.
Margaret was born July 11, 1959, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer and Fayetta Mae McGinty McHugh. She attended
local schools and graduated in 1977 from Manhattan High School.
Margaret was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and was also a Certified Medication and Home Health Aide. She worked many years for Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan. She also had worked at Good Samaritan Society – Valley Vista in Wamego.
Margaret married John Blessing, Sr. on March 4, 1978, in Enid, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2009. Margaret then married Edwin Frost on June 9, 2012, in Manhattan. He survives at their home.
Margaret was a SAL member of American Legion Post 17 and loved spending time there dancing and listening to music. She was a life-long animal lover and especially loved her own “fur babies”. Margaret collected angels and dolls and loved to read. Her books of choice were Stephen King novels. Margaret was known for her wonderful cooking. She was a very kind, and caring person and loved by her family, her co-workers and the residents at Meadowlark Hills.
Margaret is also survived by her children; Angela Blessing, Wamego, John Blessing, Jr. (Amanda), Wamego, Eric Blessing (Chastity), Jacksboro, Tennessee; and like-family to her, Emmie Devins, Manhattan, and John Long, Wamego; her siblings, Cherry Stewart, Manhattan, Peggy McHugh Tacoma, Washington, Carolyn Flippin, Tacoma, Stanley McHugh, California, Clyde McHugh, Mandan, North Dakota, and John Paul McHugh, Manhattan.
Graveside inurnment service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to Purple PAWS, and those may be sent in care of Campanella-Evans Mortuary.
