Match Day numbers were highlighted at the City Commission meeting

Calvin Pottberg, the chairman of the Greater Geary Community Foundation, highlighted this year's Match Day numbers at the city commission meeting on Tuesday night. Pottberg noted this was their 6th annual Match Day.

The donations from the public were $443,467.22 plus $162,000.00 of matching funds. The total with the matching funds equaled $605,467.22 distributed to 57 local nonprofits.

This compares to $389,363.25 of donations plus $154,516.50 of matching funds totaling $543,879.75 for 2023, going to 51 local nonprofits. 

The local foundations that provided the matching funds were the R2B4 Bramlage Family Foundation, Central Charities Foundation, Crosby Family & Hoover-Koken Fund.

Pottberg and the Greater Geary Community Foundation thanked the city of Junction City for the use of the Municipal Auditorium, Josh Gray and his team from Parks & Recreation for the set up of the auditorium, and Mike Vacanti from the I.T. Department for the I.T. set up and use of the department’s laptops.
