JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – The National Federation of State High School Association announced on Friday that Junction City High School USD 475 junior Jamarcus Tyson has been invited to serve on the NFHS National Student Advisory Council - NSAC. Tyson is one of only two students chosen from section 5 to represent on the advisory council in only the second group of NFHS members since January of 2024. In all, two students from each of the eight NFHS geographical regions were chosen for the NSAC, all of whom have exhibited outstanding leadership skills, achievements in academics and sports/activities, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
A total of 16 student leaders from across the nation, all juniors in classification and all involved in sports or performing arts activities in their respective schools, will be attending several meetings throughout the calendar year to provide the NFHS student perspectives on participation in high school sports and performing arts.
NFHS is the national leader and advocate for high school sports and performing arts and works with its 51-member state associations and 19,800 high schools to provide participation opportunities to the more than 12 million students involved in education-based activity programs.
