The Milford Lake day use areas will be changing this recreation season.• They include Curtis Creek Boat Ramp, Farnum Creek Boat Ramp, School Creek Boat Ramp, West Rolling hills Boat Ramp and East Rolling Hills Beach. Starting 1 April, 2024, there will be QR codes at the boat ramps and beach for payment, instead of the white cash envelopes or an electronic fee machine.
Day use passes are $5.00 per day and the permit expires at 11:59pm on the day of purchase. Annual day use passes are $40.00 and are valid for 12 months from the purchase month. If an annual pass is purchased on recreation.gov, you must save your confirmation receipt and show that to the Milford Project Office within 14 days of your purchase to obtain the hard copy of your annual pass.
To purchase a day use pass there are a few options:
1. At the payment signage, you will need to open your smartphone camera and hold it over the QR code. Your screen will prompt a link and you will need to click on it and follow it to the website and fill out the necessary information
2. You can purchase your day use pass online ahead of time by searching Milford Lake on recreation.gov from your computer or smartphone, then scroll down to “Activities and Experiences,” and select the boat ramp or beach you wish to use.
3. From the recreation.gov app on your phone, on the bottom of the screen, select the scan icon. Select scan QR code, and the Corps suggests logging into your account if you have one or creating an account to streamline the process in the future. From there, fill out the necessary information.
To streamline your recreation experience, the Corps said you can download the recreation.gov application NOW and create an account so when you decide to use our day use areas, you can open your recreation.gov app and scan the QR code from there. For those individuals you may know who lack smartphone capabilities or for anyone who may use any of the US Army Corps of Engineers boat ramps or beaches anywhere in the country more than 8 times in a year, you should stop by the Milford Project Office at 5203 Hwy 57 Junction City, KS 66441 and purchase an Annual Day Use Pass for $40.00.
