Dayton Scott Wollenberg

Dayton Scott Wollenberg, age 26, of Manhattan, died January 28, 2021, after a prolonged illness.

He was born on February 19, 1994 in Manhattan, the son of Neal Wollenberg and Kimberly (Evans) Wollenberg. Dayton grew up mostly in Manhattan with a four year time spent in Omaha NE, and then continuing his education at Manhattan High school. He played many sports such as football, basketball, and wrestling.

Dayton shared many memories with his family. Such as enjoying time with his dad, having a cigar and talking about different things. One of his most favorite things to do was watch K-state and Chiefs football with his mom. He had a passion for racing stock cars. He had two cars he built and raced with his Grandpa Evans, and occasionally attended races with his grandparents, mom, and sisters. Other hobbies include skateboarding, video games, hunting and fishing with his Grandpa Evans, and making his own music. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, his paternal grandmother, Betty Wollenberg; his cousin Cordell Frazier and his aunt Betty Brown; and also, his favorite animal friend, Gracie May.

Dayton is survived by his mother Kimberly Wollenberg, his father Neal Wollenberg and step-mother Andrea; his grandparents Jim and Diane Evans and Gale Wollenberg; his sisters Kynsley (Rick) and Makenna (Jarrod) Wollenberg; his step brothers Matthew (Katie) and Mitchell Custer; his best friends: Cody, Atreyu, Mike, and a very special friend Caity; also, his niece who he loved deeper than anything else, Arlo Wren.

The family will greet friends and extended family during a visitation from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Tuesday February 2, 2021 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Masks are required.

Funeral services for the family will be held at a private time.
