The Lady Jay Tennis team competed in the Centennial League Varsity Tennis Tournament hosted by Junction City High School on Monday at the Blue Jay Tennis Complex. The Lady Jays had strong showings from the entire team as they finished 4th in the team standings. Topeka Hayden won the team title.
The Lady Jays were led in the standings by singles player, Hannah Micheel, who went 2-1 on the day finishing in 3rd place earning the bronze medal. Skylor O’Sullivan also competed in the open singles bracket and after losing her first round, came back to win her final 3 matches earning 9th place.
In doubles, Julia Cho and Gracie Erichson medaled, earning 6th place by winning their first round and going 2-2 on the day. In the same bracket, Leila Etheridge and Emma Young teamed up to go 2-2 on the day earning 10th place.
The Lady Jays will continue their season with the 6A Regional Tournament this Thursday, October 10. Wichita Southeast will host the Regional tournament at Riverside Tennis Complex in Wichita. Matches will start at 9:30 am.
