Junction City Commissioners have approved an economic development agreement with Eagle Railcar Services, which is intended to support planned company expansion.
The company arrived in junction City in January of 2022 and are operating in the northeast sector of the city in the Hoover Road area. The have infused money into a former plant at that site and have been working to obtain tank car certification. The full certification is expected within the next 3-6 weeks. Fifty tank cars are already being sent in and more rail track is being laid down for the project.
A city land grant will support the expansion of jobs and employees at the plant site. There will also be new buildings added at the site in the future, including several facilities of more than 20,000 square feet to support the railcar work in phase one of the project.
The agreement is based on projected growth of the company up to 150 employees.
