The Junction City Animal Shelter is back open for normal business hours.&nbsp; The animal shelter posted on social media that the suspicion of kennel cough was a false alarm.&nbsp;

The Junction City Animal Shelter announced this past Monday that the facility will be closed for a minimum of 1 week to monitor symptoms that COULD resemble Kennel Cough. Out of IMMENSE PRECAUTION, they are halting all adoptions or showings until they can verify if this is Kennel Cough or not. 

Once clear, they will send an update out. Given the nature of the shelter and how many dogs housed, this is a very common illness shelters can see. 

Dog owners in our area need to be vigilant and understand that public places can allow for this to spread.&nbsp;&nbsp;
