Highland Park sweeps Junction City in basketball

Highland Park ( 15-3 ) jumped out to an early lead and never trailed enroute to a 66-51 boys basketball victory over the Junction City Blue Jays ( 11-8 ) in Topeka.

Tre Richardson got the Scots goin with 10 points in the first quarter as he helped the Scots jump out to a 16-7 lead, and ended up as the leading scorer in the ballgame. Junction City did not have anyone in double figures but Deontae Booker finished with nine points for the Blue Jays.

For the Blue Jays it was their second loss to Highland Park this season and their third in a row. 

In the girls game Highland Park ( 3-15 )  led early 11-2 and never trailed although in the fourth quarter Junction City ( 2-17 ) closed the gap to four points before losing 45-37.
