Geary County Sheriff's authorities reminded the public its the holiday season, and scammers are doing their best to be a Grinch. They have had multiple reports of citizens receiving phone calls from, a Deputy, Apple, or one of many companies this season.
Please remember the Sheriff's Department, nor any major corporation or company will ask for payment in the form of gift cards. Please do not provide any personal information over the telephone and if you believe the call to be a scam, you can search for the companies contact information on line and call their support line.
