Geary County Emergency Management said that fire danger will remain elevated due to continued dry fuels and dry atmospheric conditions. High winds and low humidity are fuel for wildfires. A grill, a trash pile, an outdoor fire pit, incorrectly disposed smoking material, mowing . . . all it takes is a SPARK. Please be cautious and never leave these things unattended and always always have a source of water close by.
No burning will be allowed in Geary and Riley counties on Thursday.
