Amber Stanley informs the Optimists about the YMCA

Amber Stanley is the current Junction City YMCA Director and has worked with tha entity for 19 years.  She shared that there are activities for people ages three years to adult. 

The Supper Program provides meals for 18 years and under to eat during the school year.  During the summer meals may be taken out of the building.  Last year 53,000 meals were served to youth.  The program runs Monday through Friday with bagged lunches available on Saturday.  

Construction has been going on at the Y for a new basketball court, locker rooms and work on the pool. There are also a variety of physical activities for youth after school during the school year, which are held at Franklin Elementary School.  Transportation is available. 

Volunteers are always needed to help. Information about donations during the Summer Program include unscented shaving cream, paper plates, plastic cutler, watercolor paints, popsicle sticks, googly eyes, tissue paper, finger paints, kid paint brushes, food coloring and paint tape.
