Thundering Cats Big Band will perform at the Opera house

C.L. Hoover Opera House will welcome the Thundering Cats Big Band to the stage on Sunday, February 27th at 2:00pm. Thundering Cats Big Band was founded in Manhattan in 2009. Its members consist of local musicians from all walks of life.

Sharing the stage with The Thundering Cats is a Chapman native and currently, Manhattan  resident, Emily Markley. She graduated from the New School for Jazz in New York, NY with a degree in Vocal Jazz. As a student at Chapman High School, Emily enjoyed summers playing French Horn in the Abilene Community Band. She currently lives in Manhattan with her husband, Adam and three children.

Joining Emily is local musician Steve Seitz. Steve has served as the technical director for the CL Hoover Opera House for 10 years. Steve performs at area venues in his spare time, singing and playing the guitar. 

Thundering Cats Big Band will play the classics as well as more contemporary music. Tickets are $10 and are available at jcoperahouse.org or call 785-238-3906.
