One hundred doses of the COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Geary Community Hospital on Thursday. "We are offering it to all of our providers and our nursing staff and then we will go down the line to administer it and make sure everyone gets vaccinated that needs to be, " said  Hospital spokesperson Ashley King.

Dr. Rhonda Mace received the first shot. "The first dose as I understand is about 50% effective and then you have to get the second dose in three weeks which I will do."

Mace said for her the decision to get the shot was not difficult. "We've got to stop the spread of this and I trust the science and Pfizer and the FDA made sure they did their science." Mace added she was happy to get the first dose at the hospital, and is hopeful the vaccine will be received for Valley View Senior Life residents and staff in the near future. "
