JCFD responded to a gas line main that had been struck at intersection of S. Washington and E. Chestnut St. around 2 p.m. JCFD advised that a 6” gas line was struck, and that KS Gas was notified.
Crews evacuated the areas of the 100 and 200 block of South Washington St. and the 100 block of East Chestnut St. Barricades will be placed on East and West 1st Street, from Jefferson to Franklin, and the East and West Chestnut St. from Jefferson to Franklin. The estimated time of repairs was put at 4 hours.
