Cloud County Community College is working to expand program and offerings to Junction City High School students. College President Amber Knoettgen said they are looking at health sciences programs. "We do offer our ADN in the Cloud County area, and so we're working with the high school to offer all the prerequisites that the students there might need to move on to get their RN or ADN."

There is also a desire to expand that beyond the high school. "According to the Kansas State workforce needs nursing is da huge one and obviously with a pandemic that's just really been heightened extensively. So we really want to be able to serve the greater Junction City and Geary County area."

Knoettgen met with the Geary County Commission on Monday to provide an update. She noted that there is an 11 to 1 student to  faculty ratio and there is a strong relationship with USD 475. Cloud County Community College has also been named a military friendly school.
