MORRIS COUNTY —Three people were injured in an accident just 9a.m. Thursday in Morris County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Dodge Journey driven by Julian Navarrete, 43, Wichita, was northbound on U.S. 77 eleven miles south of Interstate 70.
The SUV crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Kenworth semi driven by Jose Luis Garcia-Parra, 34, Salina, head-on.
The semi continued into a spin and collided with a 2022 Hyundai Tucson driven by Kathleen Nicole Steeves, 43, Wamego. After impact the semi came to rest jack knifed in the east ditch where a 2001 Ford Econoline driven by Bell, John Allen Bell, 57, Amado, Arizona, struck the semi.
EMS transported Navarrete and Bell to the hospital in Manhattan,
EMS transported Steeves and a passenger in the Hyundai Lisa Kristine Ross, 52, Manhattan, to the hospital in Junction City.
Garcia-Parra has a possible injury but was not transported, according to the KHP. All five were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
