Geary County Deputies respond to several accidents over the weekend

The Geary County Sheriff's Office received and responded to several accidents over the weekend. Four of the accidents were due to deer.

On Friday at 6:08 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Skiddy Road and J Hill Road in reference to a single-vehicle non-injury accident. Brandy L. Calvert of White City, KS was traveling westbound in her grey 2014 Ram 1500 pick-up when she struck a deer. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was removed by the owner.

On Saturday at 1:57 a.m., Deputies responded to 118 W. Flint Hills Blvd. to take a single vehicle accident report. Gabriel Luthi of Bennington, KS was traveling westbound on K18 Highway and struck a ditch at an unknown location, causing the airbags to deploy. Luthi continued to drive the vehicle to 118 W. Flint Hills Blvd. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was later towed by A Homestead Wrecker.

On Saturday morning, at 5:55 a.m., Deputies responded to I-70 mile marker 294 for a single-vehicle accident. Safarbeg Yatimov of New York was traveling westbound in a Freightliner Semi tractor and trailer. The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and went into the tree line. During daylight hours, TLC Wrecker towed the vehicle.

On Saturday morning at 7:17 a.m., Deputies responded to the 14000 block of Humboldt Creek Road in reference to a single-vehicle non-injury accident. Adam M. Shamburg of Junction City was traveling northbound in his grey 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe when he struck a deer. The vehicle was removed from the scene by the driver.

On Sunday at 9:03 a.m., Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Humboldt Creek Road in reference to a single-vehicle non-injury accident. Daniel J. Kramer of Ogden was traveling southbound in his grey 2014 Hyundai Sonata when he struck a deer. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was removed by a private tow company.

On Sunday night at 9:12 p.m., Deputies responded to K-57 Highway mile marker 10 for a single-vehicle accident. Devra Rolling of Chapman was traveling westbound in a 2014 Buick Enclave when a deer was struck in the roadway. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was removed by the driver.
