Today you can attend the actual anniversary of D-Day for a day of remembrance and reflection at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. This is a unique opportunity to honor the legacy of General Eisenhower and the courageous soldiers of World War II.

The Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau released an Event Schedule:

  1. 9:00 a.m. - Meet a World War II Veteran
  2. 11:00 a.m. - Remembrance Ceremony
  3. 2:00 p.m. - Veterans Panel featuring Members of the Ft. Riley/1st Infantry Division

Throughout the day, visitors can engage with reenactors, explore the Hands-on History Carts, and enjoy free admission to the museum. This day aims to be the largest gathering of World War II veterans in the United States, offering a rare chance to hear their stories firsthand.
