On Monday, July 21, the Kansas Department of Transportation plans to close the eastbound I-70 entrance ramp at exit 299/J-Hill Road for reconstruction in Junction City. This closure is in addition to the following ramp closures:

  1. Eastbound I-70 entrance ramp at exit 298 (Chestnut Street) is scheduled to remain closed until the fall, weather permitting.
  2. Eastbound exit ramp from I-70 to exit 299 (J-Hill Road) is scheduled to remain closed until the fall, weather permitting.

The contractor has scheduled the I-70 entrance ramp at eastbound exit 299 to reopen by the end of August.

This final phase, Phase Three, of reconstruction is scheduled to be completed by December, weather permitting. Wildcat Construction Co. Inc., of Wichita, is the prime contractor for this $30 million project.
