Fall sports practices open at JCHS

As fall sports practices began at Junction City High School during the midst of the coronavirus pandemic,  Athletic Director Matt Westerhaus said he felt really good. "We've worked hand in hand with the Health Department and school district. We've implemented some activities in the summer time which were very, very effective and put some procedures in place that were simple. Students and staff bought in."

There were no issues during the summer so Westerhaus said officials think those procedures will carry into the fall sports. "Hopefully we can provide our students an opportunity to participate. Wish we could guarantee nothing comes up but that can't be guaranteed. So we're going to put some things in place, some mitigation procedures and hopefully get something done.

Football, boys and girls cross country, girls tennis, boys soccer, girls golf and girls volleyball can now conduct practices for their upcoming seasons.
