Trail development is in the plan from Wamego to Fort Riley to Milford Lake and Milford State Park. Craig Bender, Military Affairs Director for the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce, said the portion on the west end is largely done. "The only thing that needs to be done at this point is the part of the trail that's on the Fort Riley property is starting to be washed out by the river so looking at putting in some type of restraining system or just moving the trail back farther."
Bender updated the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on the project.
