Adult, 3 Manhattan teens hospitalized after crash

RILEY COUNTY—Four people were injured in an accident just after 5:30p.m. Friday in Riley County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Toyota RAV 4 driven by Stroud, Brandon JL Stroud, 15, Manhattan, was westbound on Marlatt Avenue and attempted to turn south on to Kansas 113.

The driver failed to yield. A 1994 Ford F150 driven by Thaemert, Todd A. Thaemert, 59, Manhattan, struck the Toyota.

EMS transported a patient in the Toyota identified as 14-year-old Jackson West of Manhattan to Children's Mercy for treatment of serious injuries, according to the KHP.  EMS also transported Stroud, Thaemert, and another passenger in the Toyota Arion Blanton to Via Christi. A third passenger in the Toyota was not transported.  All five were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
