There will be a Double Victory with Honors for the 1st Infantry Division Deputy Commanding Officer – Maneuver and Chief of Staff Friday at the 1st Infantry Division HQ Victory Hall, Building 580, Fort Riley. It will begin at 2 p.m.
Maj. Gen. Monte Rone, Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, will host a Double Victory with Honors, as the division welcomes both the Deputy Commanding Officer of Maneuver, Col. Matthew Hardman, and the Chief of Staff, Col. Travis Habhab.
A Victory with Honors is a chance to honor incoming and outgoing leaders. It is a ceremony to both welcome new leaders and their families to the team, as well as thank outgoing leaders for their service to the unit, the community and the Army.
Col. Hardman is coming from Fort Johnson, where he served as the Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group Commander. He will serve as the 1st Infantry Division Deputy Commanding Officer of Maneuver.
Col. Habhab previously served in the Pentagon as the Executive Officer for the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. He has served as the 1st Infantry Division Chief of Staff since arriving in July
