Don Manley, President of the JC Breakfast Optimist Club, installed Ron and Amy Johnson as the newest members of the Optimist Club on Wednesday in the Hampton Inn Meeting Room.
Ron works at Jim Clark Chevrolet and Amy works at Irwin Army Hospital.
Community members who have an interest in supporting Geary County youth are invited to attend a meeting any Wednesday of the month to learn more about becoming a member. A free breakfast buffet is offered to newcomers at their first meeting. The buffet opens at 6:00 a.m. and meetings begin at 6:50 a.m. in the Hampton Inn at 1029 S. Washington Street.
The JC Breakfast Optimist Club provides donations to 17 different Geary County youth organizations; provides the Lawrence Long Memorial Scholarship to a Junction City High School Graduate who will attend a vocational/technical school; pays for a JCHS student to attend the Hugh O’Brien Leadership Academy; supports and encourages USD 475 staff and is involved in our community as individual members.
