Brandy Nicole Casey, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. She was born on April 27, 1979, in Manhattan, Kansas, to Cheryl “Sherri” Helzer and Dale Thibodeau.
Brandy was a strong and compassionate woman, often turning close friends into family. Even during times of illness, her focus remained on making sure others were cared for and supported. She always found a way to make life’s challenges manageable. She cherished spending time with her children, family, and those she held dear. Whether shopping, exploring new places, or simply sharing a moment together, Brandy found joy in the company of loved ones and in creating lasting memories.
Brandy is survived by her step-father, Jeff Helzer of Newton, KS; her children, Benjamin Casey and Raevyn Sanders of Manhattan, KS; her foster daughter, Anna Benson; brothers, Dallas Helzer of Krakow, Poland, and Anthony Helzer of Newton, KS; sister Virginia Helzer of Newton, KS; her treasured friends, Amber, Jami and Owen; and her beloved dogs, Kapone and Baby.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sherri Helzer, and grandparents Kenneth and Margaret Casey.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Yorgensen-MeloanLondeen Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery.
