City extends a contract for the city manager job

Junction City Commissioners have unanimously approved a motion to extend a contract for the position of city manager to Kim Zimmerman. The motion by Commissioner Jeff Underhill followed a short executive session Tuesday night. 

 Zimmerman has 30 years’ experience that includes twenty plus years as an active-duty logistics officer in the U.S. Army. He has also served as City Manager in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, and most recently as Chief Administrator for the Borough of Lewistown, Pennsylvania with a population of 8,500 residents that employs 90 staff. Zimmerman was also the Operations Director, Privatized Military Housing at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. 

Zimmerman was one of four finalists for the job that recently met with the public.
