Live Well Geary County is hosting a Safety Day at the Geary Community Farmers Market this Thursday from 4-7 p.m. There will be bike safety information, activities, and a few bikes to giveaway on a first-come-first-served basis.

According to a release from Live Well the event will also highlight the new 7th St. Bicycle Boulevard in Junction City. Live Well Geary County received a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas Pathways to a Healthy Kansas grant to provide the City of Junction City with matching funds to complete the 7th St. Bicycle Blvd. This is a KDOT Transportation Alternatives grant-funded project. The new boulevard is aimed to improve pedestrian and bicycle transportation systems, increase the safety of walkers and bicyclists, and enhance connectivity within a community.

Information about Bicycle Boulevard can be found at livewellgearycounty.org
