Postponements and cancellations

--USD 475 schools will be closed Tuesday. JCHS basketball has been cancelled.

--USD 383 schools will be closed on Tuesday. The Lincoln Education Center will be open with limited staff.

--USD 473 Chapman closed

--USD 329 Wabaunsee schools will be closed Tuesday

--USD 481 Rural Vista schools will not be in session Tuesday.

--The KSU celebration with the EPA on Tuesday January 7 is cancelled.

--The officers of the JC Breakfast Optimist Club decided that for the safety of all their members, the 8 January meeting be cancelled.  The roads are still very hazardous.  The temps are supposed to drop again tonight. 

-- The Junction City Family YMCA will be closed on Monday.  There will also be no Before or After school program and no YMCA youth basketball practices. 

-- Fort Riley and Irwin Army Community Hospital will operate with minimal manning and limited services on Jan. 6. The hospital will reschedule patient appointments. Emergency room and in-patient services will be available. Child Development Centers and manned fitness centers are closed. 

--First United Methodist Church of Junction City is closed on Monday. All activities are cancelled.

--Elks Lodge 1037 will be closed on Monday.

--The Dorothy Bramlage Public Library will be closed Monday, January 6.

- All Konza Prairie Community Health Center clinics are closed Monday, January 6, due to severe weather conditions. All appointments will be rescheduled.

--Junction City Workforce Center

-- Cloud County Community College – Geary County and Concordia campuses will be closed Monday, January 6 and Tuesday Ja. 7.

-- All administrative offices at the Geary County Sheriff's Office will be closed Monday.

- The Geary County Commission meeting will be held on  Tuesday, January 7.

--Due to the inclement weather, the Geary County Transfer Station, Geary County Landfill and HHW/Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, January 6th. We hope to be open on Tuesday, January 7th, but will provide updates as needed. 

--Due to the current weather conditions the Fort Riley police department has gone to Emergency Accident Reporting Phase.

If you are involved in an accident please exchange information with the other driver. Following the completion of the storm you can file a report at the MP station.

Patrols will continue to respond to accidents involving injuries or suspected impairment.
