
WINFIELD — A week after National Signing Day on Feb. 1, the Southwestern College football team has released the full list of recruits that will be joining the squad in the fall of 2023. A total of 58 new student-athletes have been brought in for the 2023 class, including 28 on offense, 24 on defense, five athletes and a specialist.
"We feel we are bringing in a class of outstanding student-athletes that encompass our blue-collar mentality as a team," said head coach Brad Griffin. "We hope to continue our recent years of success and believe this class will only help elevate our program both on the field and off."
Among the recruits is Junction City's Thelonius Jones.

"This year's signing class has impressed us greatly as a staff," said assistant head coach and defensive coordinator, Trevor Strong. "We are excited for the high-caliber players that we are welcoming to our Builder football family. All of them are excellent students and high character individuals on top of being great football players."
Southwestern football will begin spring practices in March, and will play their annual Spring Game on April 28 at 5 p.m. at Richard L. Jantz Stadium. The team will also host a golf tournament fundraiser at Winfield Country Club on April 29.
