The Kansas Department of Transportation has extended the closure on a portion of K-15 in Dickinson County.

K-15 was closed for bridge replacement over Chapman Creek in April and was originally expected to reopen in March 2027; however, due to unanticipated geological conditions the progress has been delayed.

During bridge construction, K-15 is closed to through traffic from K-18 to K-82. Motorists will be directed to follow the state route detour on K-18, U.S. 77 and K-82.

Bridges Inc., of Newton, is the prime contractor for the $4 million project, which is now scheduled to be completed in summer 2027, conditions permitting.
