COTTONWOOD FALLS, KS. (April 28, 2025) -- Symphony in the Flint Hills is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Prairie Art Exhibit and Auction, celebrating the beauty and spirit of the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie through stunning works of art.
The online auction is now open and will run until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to bid on an exceptional collection of pieces inspired by the unique landscapes of the Flint Hills. Bidding can be accessed through SymphonyintheFlintHills.org.
The full exhibit is on display daily at the Symphony in the Flint Hills Gallery, located at 331 Broadway, Cottonwood Falls, KS, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to experience the collection in person and witness firsthand the extraordinary talent of the featured artists.
During Saturday’s Open House event, Symphony in the Flint Hills proudly announced this year’s award winners. Lisa Grossman received Best in Show for her piece, "Across the Prairie Watershed. Clive Fullager was Runner-Up for his piece, "Ode to the Flint Hills," and Ernest Wood received Third Place for his work, "Earth to Sky." All award-winning pieces are on display at the Gallery and available for bidding through the online auction.
Each year, the juried Prairie Art Exhibit highlights works that deepen appreciation for the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie—one of the last remaining tallgrass ecosystems in the world. Through this auction, Symphony in the Flint Hills furthers its mission to heighten awareness and support the region’s cultural and natural heritage.
"We are thrilled to showcase the incredible talent of these artists and to celebrate the Flint Hills’ enduring beauty," said Sandy Carlson, Program Manager of Symphony in the Flint Hills. "The Prairie Art Auction is not only an opportunity to support local artists but also a way to help preserve and promote this unique and treasured landscape."
