Diane M. Carlson, 73, of Clay Center, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born April 5, 1947 at Clay Center, the daughter of Ralph and Geraldine (Sanders) Hammond. Diane attended the Uniondale and Sunny Slope schools before graduating from CCCHS in 1965. She worked as a secretary for KDOT. She married Gary Carlson on June 5, 1966. Diane later worked as a secretary at Lincoln Elementary School for 18 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and H.E.U. She was also a member of the Clay Center Country Club, Bunco Club and the Sunshine Club. Diane enjoyed cooking for everyone, doing yard work and gardening and loved having morning coffee at the Tasty Pastry with friends. She is preceded in death by parents.

Funeral Services: Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in rural Wakefield, Kansas
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas
Visitation: Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, Kansas
