Victory With Honors ceremony is scheduled at Fort Riley

There will be a Victory With Honors ceremony at 2 p.m. his Friday at the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters to honor the outgoing Division Chief of Staff, Col. Travis Habhab, and welcome the incoming chief of staff, Col. Gregory McLean.

Col. Habhab has served more than 27 years in the U.S. Army. He served as the Chief of Staff for the 1st Infantry Division, coordinating division staff activities and supporting the more than 13,000 warfighters assigned to the First Division and their families. As he concludes his Army service, he begins a new chapter of supporting Soldiers, their families, and military retirees and veterans as the executive director of Military and Veterans Affairs at Kansas State University.

Col. McLean began his Army service as an enlisted Armor Crewman. He has served at every echelon of command, most recently as the 194th Armored Brigade Commander at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he oversaw the training of initial entry Soldiers as part of the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command (T2COM), formerly Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).  He joins the Big Red One as the division prepares for their rotation to Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
