Season comes to an end for Blue Jay baseball

The Junction City Blue Jays fell to the Maize Eagles 1-0 in first round play during a Regional Tournament game at Maize on Thursday. The loss occurred despite the fact that Junction City recorded seven hits to five for Maize. Jamarcus Tyson, Cael Smith and Chris Coy all recorded two hits for the Blue Jays.

Easton Roth was the winning pitcher for Maize. He gave up seven hits and no runs, struck out nine and walked one. Lincoln Upham surrendered five hits and one run over six innings, struck out two and walked two.

The Blue Jays turned one double play in the game.

Junction City finished the season with a record of 9-16.
