The concept of a new logo for the entire county received discussion at the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday at the CVB offices. Donna Price, CVB Director, explained it could start with the county and then go across the local area. "Anybody that wants to be involved we would love to have them." The idea is to have one logo that allows people to understand that represents Junction City and Geary County. Grandview Plaza, Milford and USD 475 could be included if there is interest.
Input will be sought on this idea from potential stakeholders such as the cities and school district, plus the public.
The CVB is also considering a new sign on the outside of the building at 222 West 6th Street where they are located. It was clear from discussion at their meeting on Tuesday that they plan to remain at that site.
County Commissioner Trish Giordano noted that the two CVB employees both enjoy working in that building and have worked well with the Chamber of Commerce and EDC in that facility. She confirmed that the County wants the CVB to stay at their current location. "Yes, yes, they're doing well here, and I think it's a good place, it's good visibility, and once we get that sign up I think that will help things as well. " In the past there have been discussions about moving the CVB to another location in the downtown area.
