Carol Auld, died Saturday the 8th of February, surrounded by family.
Carol was born in 1938 in Milford, Kansas, the daughter of John and Fern Mellinger. Carol spent her childhood playing piano, singing, playing multiple sports, basketball and cheerleading, and going to church with her parents and siblings, Bobbi and Jerry.
After high school, Carol received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of Kansas. She was a proud member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Carol met the love of her life, Robert Auld, and wed in 1961. They welcomed their first child, Robert Scott, in 1963. And their daughter, Rebecca Dawn, in 1964. In the spring of 1967 they moved to Kennewick, Washington, and bought a 15-acre property in Finley, Washington. They were married for 57 years before Robert passed away.
Carol loved to camp and fish with her friends and family. In her later years, she renewed her love of sewing and took up quilting and bird watching.
She is survived by her siblings, Roberta Bruce and Jerry Mellinger, her children, Scott Auld and Rebecca McLaughlin, her grandchild, Haley Mackie, and her great grandchildren Aiden William and Avery June whom brought great joy to her later years.
