JUNCTION CITY - Over the weekend, the Junction City High School Tennis team, hosted the Varsity Tennis Invite.
The Blue Jay Tennis team finished in 2nd place at the invitational.
Schools participating in the invitational included: Lawrence Free State, Salina South, Topeka High, Abilene, Manhattan and Junction City.
Blue Jays were lead by Alex Matthews, who finished with a gold medal in the top singles bracket with a 5-0 record.
Carl Baskerville and Nate Rollins paired up to earn a silver medal at the #2 doubles position.
Chris Beers won the bronze medal in the #2 singles, while Alan Leis and David Trammell teamed up in the top doubles position to earn 4th place.
Other Blue Jay tennis participants included Memphis Platt at #1 singles, Tim Nguyen at #2 singles and the doubles team of Ethan Moneypenny and Aidyn Thurn in the top doubles bracket.
The Blue Jays play in the Topeka High Varsity Tennis Invite on Monday, April 24, matches started at 9am at the Kossover Tennis Center.
