Junction City Boys Basketball Wins at Hayden

It took overtime but the the Junction City Blue Jays Boys Varsity Basketball team won on the road Friday night over the Hayden High School Wildcats ( 2-2 ) , 71-65.

The Blue Jays ( 3-1 ) were led by Terrance Tedder with 23 points and Howard Johnson with 20 points.

The game was tied at 57-all after regulation before the Blue Jays outscored the Wildcats 14-8 in the extra session. In the early going of the game Junction City was struggling on offense, but then Tedder began to take control. Coach Nick Perez noted that when Tedder makes one shot he gets going. "And he just gets his confidence and starts growing."

Overall Perez was pleased with the win. "I'm happy for our kids. We had some guys come in that gave us good minutes and got their feet wet, and just proud of the way everybody played."

Junction City will not play again until Jan. 8th at Emporia because of the holiday break.
