Geary County has awarded a bridge construction project for replacing the existing bridge on West Lyon Creek Road, approximately 0.14 miles north of the Dickinson/Geary County Line on West Lyons Creek Rd., to Reece Construction Co., Inc. from Salina, Kansas.
Contract amount of $301,560.00. KDOT awarded the Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program for funding reimbursement for this project. Estimated construction start date is November 28, 2023, and the duration of this project is 90 working days.
West Lyon Creek Road will be closed to traffic at the location of the bridge through the duration of this project. Official detour for north bound traffic from the intersection of Wolf Rd.& 1900 Ave. travel south approximately 5.3 miles to K-209, east on K-209 to US-77 approximately 1.5 miles, north on US-77 to K-157, approximately 7.8 miles, then west on K-157 approximately 2.8 miles back to West Lyon Creek Rd. South bound traffic will follow this detour in reverse. Detour traffic signs will be installed before construction begins.
