Milford Lake Welcomes Over 1.25 million visitors in 2024

Geary County, KS – Dec. 26, 2024 – Milford Lake has announced another great year in 2024, surpassing 1.25 million visitors. This milestone solidifies Milford Lake's position as one of the state's premier tourist attractions, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond ."We are thrilled to witness the incredible impact Milford Lake has had on our community, region and the state of Kansas in 2024. Though our visitation numbers are down from the previous year, we are still attracting over one-million visitors per year." said Rick Dykstra, Marketing Specialist, Geary County CVB.

The influx of visitors to Milford Lake in 2024 has not only boosted local tourism but also generated substantial economic benefits for the surrounding region. Some key factors contributing to Milford Lake's success include a wide range of activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, and birdwatching. Milford Lake is renowned for its excellent fishing opportunities. The new Spray Park in Milford State Park has been a big draw for families.
