Led by Howard Johnson's 25 second quarter points, the Junction City Blue Jays defeated Saint Joseph Central ( 2-11 ) 90-47 in the opening round of the Bobcat Invitational at Basehor-Linwood Invitational.
During his hot shooting streak in second quarter Johnson hit six three-point shots. Seth Clark scored 17 and Terrence Tedder 14 points for the Blue Jays ( 7-1 ) in the win.
Junction City will advance to the winner's bracket semifinals in the tournament against fellow Centennial League member Washburn Rural. They play at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
